Who Is Archangel Michael?
The Archangel Michael, also known as Saint Michael the Archangel, is traditionally known as the leader of the angelic hosts. He is mentioned by name in several books of the Bible.
The Urantia Book identifies Michael as the Creator Son of our local universe, the very same Michael who incarnated on Earth as Jesus of Nazareth. He is sometimes referred to as Christ Michael.

Archangels are very high spirit beings, created by Michael, who are dedicated to the work of creature survival and mortal ascension. They accompanied Michael during his earthly bestowal.
In The Urantia Book, we learn that the “archangel of Michael” is involved with the resurrection of the dead into the next life, such as occurred when Jesus arose from the tomb. 37:3.6 (409.3) This can be compared with 1 Thessalonians 4:15, which says “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven... with the voice of the archangel... and the dead in Christ shall rise.” This may also be what is meant in Daniel 12:1-2, which prophecies that “at that time shall Michael stand up,” and “many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake.”
Reference is also made to this same “archangel of Michael” contending with the rebel at the time of Moses’ resurrection following his death. 53:1.2 (601.4) This seems to be a clarification of the statement in Jude 1:9, which refers to Michael the Archangel contending with the devil who “disputed about the body of Moses.” The Urantia Book clarifies this, explaining that because one of the rebels contested his immediate awakening in heaven after death, Moses had to wait until the next group resurrection. 52:5.5 (596.3)
