Joining the Team at Urantia Foundation
Joining the Team at Urantia Foundation
By Lisa Crawford, Urantia Foundation, Michigan, United States
I’m deeply grateful to be joining the Urantia Foundation staff as programs assistant and honored to support the Foundation’s mission to preserve, translate, and disseminate The Urantia Book around the world.
I first encountered The Urantia Book over four years ago, and it quickly became one of the most compelling and life-affirming works I’ve ever read. Over time, it has deepened my understanding of God, Jesus, our shared human journey, and our place in the cosmos.
I was raised by deeply sincere parents—my father a minister of the gospel—who modeled humility, service, and trust in God’s leading. My spiritual path later included biblical scholarship, study of world religions, and more than a decade within Unitarian Universalism. Looking back, I can see how each step prepared me to receive the fifth epochal revelation with gratitude.
In recent years, the Urantia community has become an important part of my life through courses with Urantia Book International School (UBIS), study groups, volunteering, and service initiatives. I’m especially grateful for the spirit of goodwill I’ve encountered—people united by devotion to truth, beauty, and goodness.
One line from The Urantia Book that has stayed with me is the reminder that “the work is important, the self is not.” 48:6.37 (555.5) I find that perspective grounding and freeing in service-oriented work that depends on cooperation and trust.
In my new role as programs assistant, I will provide coordination and support for social media, grants, translations, book inventory, and special projects—helping connect people and efforts across a global community of readers and partners.
I feel privileged to serve Urantia Foundation at this moment and look forward to contributing alongside so many devoted individuals as we carry this revelation forward together.
