 06           THE COURT:  Let me see counsel at the bench.  
 07      I don't need this on the record.

 09          THE COURT:  Let the record reflect that the plaintiff 
 10  is not here in person but that he has consented and agreed that 
 11  the jury be brought in and a verdict rendered in his absence.  
 12      (THE FOLLOWING PROCEEDINGS WERE HAD IN OPEN COURT AND 
 13  WITHIN THE PRESENCE AND HEARING OF THE JURY:)
 14           THE COURT:  Be seated, please.
 15      Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Sterbenz, your note indicates 
 16  the jury has reached a verdict; is that correct?
 17           JUROR STERBENZ:  That is correct, Judge.
 18           THE COURT:  Would you pass it to my bailiff and he'll 
 19  bring it forward.
 20       I'll read it if you want me to.  
 21           THE COURTROOM DEPUTY:  Certainly.
 22           THE COURT:  This is in Michael Foundation vs. Urantia 
 23  Foundation and Urantia Foundation vs. Harry McMullan, number 
 24  885 -- well, CIV-00-885-W.  
 25      The verdict form, section number 1, Copyright Validity, X

 02  as no and interrogatory number 2 as no find Urantia 
 03  Foundation's renewal copyright is invalid."  
 04      And the interrogatories are answered interrogatory number 
 05  I, no, interrogatory number 2, no.  This is executed by Kenneth 
 06  Sterbenz in both instances as foreperson.  
 07      Let me poll the jurors.
 08      Mr. Sterbenz, is that your verdict?
 09           JUROR STERBENZ:  Yes, sir, it is.
 10           THE COURT:  Ms. Mach, is that your verdict?
 11           JUROR MACH:  Yes.
 12           THE COURT:  Ms. Hendricks, is that your verdict?
 13           JUROR HENDRICKS:  Yes.
 14           THE COURT:  Mr. Flowers, is that your verdict?
 15           JUROR FLOWERS:  Yes, sir.
 16           THE COURT:  Mr. Spencer, is that your verdict?
 17           JUROR SPENCER:  Yes, Your Honor.
 18           THE COURT:  And Ms. Guinn, is that your verdict?
 19           JUROR GUINN:  Yes, sir.
 20           THE COURT:  Ms. Odland, is that your verdict?
 21           JUROR ODLAND:  Yes.
 22           THE COURT:  And Mr. Robinson, is that your verdict?
 23           JUROR ROBINSON:  Yes, sir.
 24           THE COURT:  All right.  Do the attorneys wish to 
 25  examine the verdict or the interrogatory forms before I excuse

 02           MR. ABOWITZ:  No, Your Honor.
 03           MR. HILL:  Not necessary, Your Honor.
 04           THE COURT:  All right.  Ladies and gentlemen of the 
 05  jury, you have now completed your service in connection with 
 06  this case.  I want to thank you for serving in this case.  And 
 07  you're now discharged.  You're now free to discuss this case, 
 08  if you wish to do so.  You're under no obligation to do that.  
 09  If anyone attempts in any way to coerce you or harass you as a 
 10  result of your jury service, certainly I want you to report 
 11  that to me.
 12      Now, I want to ask, and this is not an obligation on the 
 13  jurors, but I want to ask those of you who are willing to visit 
 14  with the Court and with the attorneys regarding this case and 
 15  your views and observations with regard to that, to come to my 
 16  office.  If you'll go out that door and to the left, right by 
 17  the -- directly across from the elevators, directly on this end 
 18  is my office, 3001.  Those of you who are willing to visit with 
 19  me and with the attorneys briefly about your experiences in 
 20  connection with this case, I invite you to do so.  You're not 
 21  required to do that.  Those of you who do not wish to do that, 
 22  simply report to the jury assembly room and turn in your jury 
 23  badges.  
 24      Again, thank you for your service in connection with this 
 25  case.
