Christians In India

Urantia Foundation representatives, while attending the New Delhi bookfair in February of this year, met with the General Secretary of the India Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge (ISPCK). After a lengthy discussion on The Urantia Book, the General Secretary expressed concern about the growing tensions, of ten resulting in violence, between the Christians and Hindus in his country. He was very impressed with The Urantia Book and felt that it may prove to be a benign method for introducing the gospel message to the Indian people. He therefore agreed to assist us in our library donation program by sending copies of The Urantia Book to over 200 theological college libraries throughout India. He has been true to his word, and we have been receiving some encouraging feedback from these colleges. Some of the feedback is so positive, given that they are coming from mainstream Christian institutions, that we would like to share some of them with you: "lowe an immeasurable debt of gratitude for the book [The Urantia Book] you have gifted to the Papal Seminary.... I am the Seminary's Librarian and at the moment I can only imagine the 'oh's' and 'ah's' they will be saying when, on their return from their holidays, they see this book. What a wealth of knowledge this one huge volume contains. And so I say with the deepest sense of gratitude: God bless you many times over for this priceless gift you have sent us!"

"We hope you would give us an opportunity to be mission partners in the dissemination of His knowledge in this country as we are all working for His kingdom."

If we are able to donate them, the ISPCK has also offered to send books to the 1500-2000 new students in the theological colleges every year! The Foundation's field representative has been busy placing books in public and university libraries throughout India.

The Foundation will be presenting the book again at the Delhi Bookfair in August and will follow up on the many contacts made both in the book industry and with new readers.
